Frequently asked questions

We answer right now
What documents and visas are needed?

To visit Tanzania, you need a passport valid for at least 6 months from the expected date of departure from Tanzania. A visa is issued at the airport upon arrival ($50). Bring cash ONLY in USD, in 100 bills, bills not older than 2009!

Do I need vaccinations, for example against yellow fever?

No, no vaccinations are required. Tanzania is a safe country in this regard and if you are flying from a similarly safe country, no certificates or vaccinations are required.

What physical fitness is required?

For this route, average physical fitness is sufficient, the ability to walk 4-5 hours a day. Contact us and we will help assess your fitness and give advice on preparation!

Do I need mountaineering equipment?

The ascent is essentially a high-altitude trek, so special alpine equipment is not required. You will need trekking gear, clothes and shoes.

Who carries all the things to the top?

During the route, a team of porters goes with us, carrying general things and provisions, as well as personal belongings of the participants in bags. You carry only the personal things you need during the transition (raincoat, snacks, camera, etc.)

What is the optimal season for climbing?

Unlike most other mountains, there is almost no seasonality for climbing Kilimanjaro, the summit is accessible all year round. There are several months of the relative "rainy season", during which we do not put our planned ascents on the calendar.

What is the temperature on Kilimanjaro?

At the foot of Kilimanjaro, the temperature can reach +20-25 degrees, the higher you go, the colder it is. At the top, the thermometer can show -10, so you will need shorts, warm pants, and gloves on the route.

Do you need previous hiking experience?

If you have experience in trekking or climbing, this will be a plus. But in general, Kilimanjaro does not require previous climbing experience, and can be your first high and at the same time legendary peak!
